BOREAL FOREST
The world's boreal forests
The world's boreal forests

The Boreal forest is made up of mostly coniferous trees such as pines, cedars, spruce, and fir trees.

BOREAL FOREST PRECIPITATION

The Boreal forest also known as the Taiga has
an annual mean of 1,000mm of rainfall. The
precipitation is mostly snow with 40- 100cm annually.

BOREAL FOREST SUNLIGHT
boreal_forestttt.jpg

In the winter, because the Boreal is not near the sun as a result there barely is any sunlight in the winter, that results in it always being dark. In the summer, it gets very warn and due to that there can be sunlight for about 24 hours because of the fact that the Northern Hemisphere tilts.

BOREAL FOREST TEMPATURES

BOEAL FOREST CLIMATE

In the boreal forest the climate has cold, long, and dry winters and mild, moist, and short summers with seasonal fires.

BOREAL FOREST ANIMAL SPECIES
The boreal forest supports few animal life .
Many animals in the boreal eat the seeds produced by coniferous trees including red squirrels, insects, and birds such as finches and chickadees.
Some herbivores such as snowshoe hares, moose, and beavers eat tree barks and new shoot.
The beavers are the biggest rodents in the boreal.
The variety of herbivores in the boreal forest support large predators including wolves bears, great horned owls, and lynxes.

BOREAL FOREST PLANTS
Most trees in the boreal are coniferous trees.
Coniferous trees produce their seeds in cones and have leaves shaped like needles.
The tree species are well-adapted to the cold climate.
Other trees in the boreal are the Fir, Spruse, Hemlock, and the coniferous.
All those trees have thick, waxy needles that prevent water from evaporating .
That is essential because most water is frozen for much of the year.
The Boreal contains 1/3 of the trees in the world.
